The Mick Taylor Encounter
Oh my god have we got a story for you! Are ya sitting down? Soooooooooo....Aug 7th 2003 was the Mick Taylor show at Tucsons Road House. Cozz and Spice go early to get front row seats for all nine of us, and they do. The band is setting up and Cozz gets Mick to sign his Fireberd right on the pic guard. Cool. Wait...it gets better.

As the band is doing their sound check, and the place is packed at this point, it appears Mick is having amp problems. Anyhow they make do with the Fender Twin that's giving him problems and finish their check. Good O'l Cozz introduces himself to the other guitarist, who also happens to be the tour manager, and tells him about all the amps at the warehouse. The tour guy consults with Mick and Mick is interested in hearing the amps (Ampeg and Fender). Cozz and Spice take off to the warehouse and haul the two amps back to Tucsons. Mick is in a small room off the kitchen and it's sticking hot tonight with killer humidity with the temp in the kitchen at least 90 degrees. Still Mick is wearing a sport jacket and pants in this sweaty little room and gives Cozz's Fender a try. I sneak in with the camera (with flash disabled) to capture the moment....

Mick then has some technical questions about the amp so Spice is introduced to Mick. After Spice talks to Mick, Mick decides the Deluxe is worth a try. He likes it so Cozz removes Micks Fender Twin and replaces it with the Deluxe. I carried the twin back into the kitchen and gave it to Mick.

Notice Cozz keeps the Goats tour badge on the amp the whole night!

Finally, Mick walks on stage to a sold-out appreciative crowd and starts playing Cozz's amp. It sounds frickin great and he appears very happy with it. I get a great seat and start shooting photos. I end-up beside another girl taking photos who happens to be the girlfriend of the bass player. The two of us shoot the entire show and she introduces me to the band.

Eventually the show ends and Mick is happy with the amp. Cozz gets Mick to sign the cloth on the front of his amp. Mick is so happy with the amp HE WANTS TO TAKE IT ON TOUR WITH HIM. He and Cozz agree on terms and discover Mick is returning to Tucsons on Aug 14.....and YOU have a ticket to go (Cozz bought you one). Sooooooo....until then.....Cozz's Fender Deluxe isn't available BECAUSE IT"S ON FRICKIN TOUR WITH MICK TAYLOR!!!
